Welcome to the home page of the Geelong Gliding Club Inc.. Established in Victoria, in 1929, Geelong Gliding Club was the first gliding club in Australia. The club was formed as a voluntary non-profit organisation to make available the facilities for, and train interested members of the general public in, the sport of gliding.
Since that time it has operated at a number of sites culminating in the establishment of the soaring centre located at the Bacchus Marsh Airfield, currently shared with two other clubs. This sites offers a variety of soaring conditions including thermal, ridge and wave lift, while remaining within easy reach of Melbourne, Geelong and Ballarat.
