GREAT CIRCLE DISTANCE CALCULATOR
A great circle calculator will determine the shortest distance between two points, the route which follows the segment of the earth's circumference of greatest radius or great circle route. This on-line calculator will calculate the great circle distance, and bearing, between two turnpoints. Just enter the latitude and longitude of the turnpoints.
Note: This calculator requires a JavaScript enabled browser.
AUSTRALIAN TURNPOINTS
This listing includes over 1400 Australian turnpointscollected from GFA badge claim data and other sources. This data has not been checked and should be verified before being used in critical applications.
Note: This is a 90Kbyte file.
PROGRAM DOWNLOADS

When downloading these files save them to an empty temporary directory. Run the program, it will decompress in that directory. Run the setup.exe program and follow the instructions. When asked which directory to install them to do not install them in the same temporary directory as the setup files. After the installation program is finished the temporary directory, and all the files contained within may be deleted. If you are asked to insert another disk press the OK button, all the files are included on the one disk.
GC-Calc
| Program Description
| GC-Calc is a full featured and highly customisable task calculator. Tasks can be constructed from the supplied database of over 1100 Australian turnpoints with only a few key presses. Distances are calculated using the great circle method. Tasks display the leg, task and total distances, and bearings (either great circle or rhumb), with allowance for magnetic deviations, between turnpoints.
Full turnpoint editing facilities are provided, including tools to merge or filter databases and find duplicated turnpoints. A simple co-ordinate calculator is provided to simplify turnpoint entry.
A full help file is provided.

Polar Glider
| Program Description
| Polar Glider uses a gliders performance data to calculate it's polar curve. Using this it can calculate various data. It can be used to plot it's polar curve, calculate final glide tables, speed to fly rings, and print WAC, JWC or Stöcker final glide calculators. All these can be prepared for various wing loadings.
A sample database of about fifty gliders, and a full help file are provided.

Form2.xls
| Program Description
| An Excel spreadsheet to help with annual inspection requirements. It includes components to deal with ASI and release testing, glider weighing and weight and balance calculations. Brief notes are included.
The spreadsheet can be used to simply print out worksheets for these functions or to verify and calculate the relevant components.

Pictorial Placards
| Program Description
| A series of Windows Metafiles for printing the pictorial labels used on the various cockpit controls. The use of the metafile format enables these to be resized with no loss of resolution.
The images can be imported into most drawing programs (as opposed to bitmap editors) for further editing. Alternatively simple editing such as resizing, the addition of coloured backgrounds or direction arrows can be performed using the Draw applet in Microsoft Word or Publisher.
