Passenger Flying Fully Explained

The following chart should be carefully studied as it explains all the different ways passengers may be carried. Please note that the expression “Family and Friends” has been discontinued, as it is not possible to define what constitutes a family or friend for these purposes. These new provisions have just been released by the GFA.

Just at the moment the GGC does not have an Air Operator Certificate so members of the public can only be carried as a private passenger or as an Air Experience Flight ( Trial Instructional Flight.)

Members should note that if you take someone for a private passenger flight (the old F & F) your passenger is not covered by any GFA insurance. You are only allowed to share the costs up to half. If a passenger on a private flight should be seen to pay you more than half the cost of the flight, you will be in breach of the Civil Aviation Regulations, with quite a hefty fine attached. This is something washed over us from General Aviation.
