The 31st FAI World Gliding Championship have begun today in Prievidza, Slovakia.
It is a non-flapped competition with three classes: standard, club and world-class.
Australia is represented in standard class by Tobi Geiger, for many years, before moving to Benalla, a Geelong Gliding club member, an instructor and an accomplished cross-country pilot.
Other Australian pilots are: Peter Temple in standard class and Allan Barnes and Mike Codling in club class.
