Another good May day's flying... PDF Print E-mail

After a delayed start due to dodgy looking skies and lengthy discussion at the Committee meeting, Rolf, Gordon, Alf and Ailsa with towing help from Ian and Bob enjoyed a useful and instructive afternoon's flying on Saturday 10 May.  Each of us flew 3 times in the K13, with the Pawnee towing Ailsa's first 2 of 3 launches before Bob brought the Super Cub over to continue towing for the rest of the day.

I did a couple of incipient spin practice flights followed by reasonable circuits but 'improvable' landings.   I've really got to not aim to get so close to the tug at the end of the ground roll.  Keep that stick back and steer away!  As the sun got low, Gordon and Rolf completed a hangar flight and we put all the toys away after another great May day's flying.

Mother's Day (and in our family's case also her birthday) distracted us from returning for more of the same on the Sunday.  I expect everyone enjoyed the day none the less.  Perhaps even a few mothers did too...
