A few comments on the Gallery that has recently been added to the new site:
The gallery is viewable to the public, however once you register to the site you will be able to:
- upload pictures to the gallery,
- add your comments under individual pictures and galleries,
- uploaded your own pictures to the gallery.
By default, when you login to the site for the first time, there will be an empty sub-gallery created with your first name and your surname as the gallery name. You will have full rights over this gallery. You could delete it, make it invisible to anyone but yourself or make it open to the general public etc...
I've created a number of generic galleries and uploaded some pictures to them: Bacchus Marsh, Competitions, Easter Camps. I'll be uploading more pictures in the near future. Feel free to contribute your own pictures. If you think that other galleries are to be created, please let me know.
If you are on any of the pictures and object to it, please let me know. I'll remove it from the site.
As I mentioned it before, the site consists of number of components put together using Joomla CMS technology. The gallery component I picked is a program called Gallery 2. It had to be installed on our site before it was incorporated or "bridged" into the club's site, therefore the gallery could be accessed as a "separate" web site:
When uploading pictures to the gallery, no matter what image you submit, it will be sized to 640 pixels either horizontally or vertically (depending if the picture is a landscape or a portrait). Try to avoid uploading pictures smaller than 640 px.
