Visitors are welcome to visit the club and arrange for an introductory Air Experience Flight (AEF). During the AEF you will be able to experience controlling the glider yourself. These flights are conducted in one of the club's dual seat gliders with pilots approved by the club, and trained to the required GFA standards.
A flight will last 20 to 30 mins, conditions allowing. Launching is by aerotow. Longer flights can be arranged with your pilot if the soaring conditions are suitable and the demand for the glider allows.
Passenger flights are conducted on a first come, first served basis most weekends and public holidays. No prior bookings are necessary but you are advised to arrive by 11 a.m.. This will give you an opportunity to arrange a flight and, if necessary while waiting for your turn, to check out the club's facilities.
When travelling on the airfield please keep to the perimeter road observing the speed limit of 20kph. Do not in any circumstance drive on any runways, including those apparently not in use. To book a flight please inquire at the GGC "piecart" which will be located adjacent to the flying operations. If you cannot see the piecart, just ask someone for help. There is usually someone in the clubhouse, workshops or hangars. They will be happy to give you directions.
The cost of a AEF is $120 (cash or credit card); for a 2000ft AGL launch giving a flight time of 20-30 mins, covering the cost of launching, glider hire, club and GFA daymembership and insurance charges and $150 for 3000ft AGL launch and a flight of 35-40 mins. AEF by winch launch (usually available second Sunday and fourth Saturday of the month) cost $80.00 for the first 10 minutes and $1.50/min thereafter up to $120.00. Please note: flight times are approximate and are dependant on weather conditions.
Groups of 5 or more discounts apply.
Passengers upon joining the club within a month, if the yellow GFA day member form is returned, will have $25.00 credited to their account.
Weekend Membership Packages are now available. The packages cost $350.00 and entitle the member to receive five instructional flights over 1 or 2 weekends.
Gift vouchers to cover the cost of an introductory flight are available from the club on forwarding a cheque or money order for $105 or $120 depending on the type of flight (see above). It is not necessary to specify the date the flight is to be taken. Note: Vouchers can only be redeemed at the Bacchus Marsh Airfield.
- To obtain a voucher send details and payment to:

As the club occasionally operates at other sites, or weather conditions may not allow passenger flights, you are advised to phone and confirm operations on the day of your proposed flight. This can be done by phoning the clubhouse (PH: 03 5369 5125) prior to departing.
