AIRCRAFT TARIFFS

Aircraft tariffs are charged by the minute. There is no charge for flying instruction, all instructors work in a voluntary capacity.

Flying fees are calculated and charged to the member's account, which must be kept in credit at all times (payments cash, cheque or credit card).

The policy of the club has always been to keep flying fees low relative to other fees in order to encourage flying activity. Maintaining flying currency is a major factor in maintaining safety.

MEMBERSHIP FEES

There are two categories of flying membership with the club; Junior/Student, less than 18 years age or full time students with no source of income and Full Flying members. Club fees vary between categories as follows.

MembershipAnnual SubscriptionsDebentures
Full Flying $300 p.a. $300
Junior/Student $75 p.a. Nil

Annual subscriptions are payable on becoming a flying member and are calculated pro. rata. to the 30th June.

Debentures are a “loan” to the club that are refundable in full on leaving the club. They are deducted in four instalments of $75.00 over two years.

GFA FEES

Glider pilots do not require a licence to fly but they must be a member of a club affiliated to the Gliding Federation of Australia (GFA) to legally fly or receive instruction in a glider in Australia. The government has delegated the responsibility for the administration of gliding to the GFA. The club arranges GFA membership for Provisional Members.

Again there are two categories with Full and Student membership. Membership includes a subscription to Soaring Australia - the GFA's magazine, membership of the relevant state authority; the Victorian Soaring Association and a broad based liability insurance premium. Members with an existing family member who belongs to the GFA can elect to have a Family membership, foregoing a second subscription to A.G. GFA membership is payable pro. rata to the 30th September.
