CLUB GLIDERS

The club owns a fleet of eight gliders for the use of its members. Members are converted into each of them progressively as their flying skills develop. Flights at Bacchus Marsh are usually limited to around one hour, (depending on glider demand), though longer times for cross country flights can be readily arranged. In this event the glider hire is free after the first 200 minutes.

SYNDICATE GLIDERS

A number of gliders are privately owned, usually by a group of members who form together as a syndicate. Flying in these gliders is strictly by invitation only. Shares in these syndicates become available on an occasional basis.

CLUB TUGS

Launching at the Bacchus Marsh Airfield is exclusively by aerotow due to the concurrent use of the airfield by light power aircraft. Winch launching is conducted on some days at a nearby strip. Club members who are power rated can be endorsed for glider towing by the club. Interested power pilots with a “tail dragger” endorsement and who are willing to become club members can also be endorsed.

Winch at nearby strip?

"Winch launching is conducted on some days at a nearby strip. "

This statement (above) may be out of date, but I am wondering where the 'nearby strip' is (or was)...

Can anyone enlighten me?
